A year in, I reorganized as a consumer cooperative, bringing in ultimately over 100 members who received discounted prices and worked in the store to increase their discount. I like to say I thought of it as a retail operation with the soul of a nonprofit arts organization. Recycled Records is a secondhand retail music store that has served Reno/Sparks and Northern Nevada since 1978.Our first store opened in 1978 and was purchased in late 1980 by the current operator, Paul Doege. The Main store has been at its current location since December 2007, after being at South Virginia and Kietzke for 24 years.The University store opened in 1997, closed in 2008, and replaced a former 2nd store in Sparks(1988-1993). We now only have the one 1,920 sq ft store at Kietzke and Moana until November 2012, and our new and future location is at 822 South Virginia Street in the Midtown section of Reno.

Hi-Phy Records is a female-owned record store operating inside SpurLine Supply Company in the Sawmill District of Albuquerque, New Mexico. We also have mini record stores located within the Sawmill Market as well as Castle Coffee downtown. The owner, Jenny Gordon, began selling record online in 2008 and transformed the business into one of the countries first pop-up record stores, Hi-Phy Records in 2015, holding record events at bars, breweries and markets. Located inside a large antiques mall, Record Booth 93 offers a nice selection of new and used LPs, 12"s, 45s, and 78s with the occasional cd, cassette or 8-track. Jolene the Record Lady who runs the booth is a record store veteran, former college and club dj and all around music obsessive with decades of experience collecting and selling records. Items marked $25 or more (and not marked 'firm' or already reduced) pay with cash for a 10% discount (must ask at the register to receive the discount). Offers considered for items marked $100 or more (inquire at the front counter). Inventory is not listed online and we have had some sweet, very rare northern soul 45s and 1960s garage rock records to drool over. The racks are kept organized to make it easier to see if we have that special title you're looking for. Located off highway 85/40 at exit 145, the mall is a great stop for stretching your legs if you are driving through the area. The bathrooms are accessible and usually tidy. The Record Lady is always interested in looking at records and collections for sale - we pay well for the good stuff! Inquire at the front counter if she is around.
