At the end of 1988 Alan Childs came aboard with a background of collectable record sales in record collector magazine. In May 1989, Across The Tracks opened in Sydney Street. More shops followed in Trafalgar Street and Warwick Street precinct in Worthing. However in 1994 ATT moved everything to its current location: 110 Gloucester Road.

Although primarily a musical gear shop, South City Music in Altrincham have now also branched out into selling Vinyl and just inside the door amid the very tempting array of guitars, amps etc you’ll find several crates of wax covering classic rock, Indie, Punk, Reggae, Dub, Soul and Motown and more. If you’re lucky the main man Adam, who divides his time between taking care of the shop and doing some heavy lifting in the real world of backstage rock n’ pop will be on hand with a brew and some of his rock and roll war stories. If you’re really lucky you’ll also be rubbing shoulders with certain Manchester music legends who frequent the shop to stock up on FX pedals and guitar picks. What are you waiting for?

Love Vinyl, "Bespoke Records For East London", established in 2014.A new record shop for East London, Love Vinyl is a mecca for dance music lovers whether it's the latest house or techno releases or vintage underground disco gems from the 1970's. Brought to you by four music lovers with a long history in London clubs, on the cities' turntables, and most importantly behind (and in front) of London's record shop counters.

Established in 1994, this outlet moved to its' current (3rd) location in November 2015. A large selection of good quality second hand records are available for sale. Profits are used to help young unemployed people, to help local photographers and artists and to help local bands. The Colchester branch of the national chain of HMV stores. The store has recently relocated to a larger store in the Culver Square Shopping Centre. At this new location, HMV Colchester is now providing a healthy selection of new vinyl records from both mainstream and independent labels covering rock, pop, R&B, hip-hop and electronic. The shop currently only stocks albums and compilations.

The Fat City Record shop expanded several times over the years before finally residing in Oldham Street. In August 2009 the Fat City shop closed its outlet in Oldham Street and the business moved to London.
